Artist Statement

I have a creative soul and for as long as I can remember I have had a passion to create art. I love the creative process that encourages thoughts and concepts materialize into tangible and meaningful works of art. I was captivated by fabric and sewing decades ago. My love of sewing and fabrics is leading me down many different roads, all of which converging to forge my evolution into a textile artist and art quilter. I create art quilts to tell a story and process feelings that are unique and personal to me and hopefully viewers as well.

My artistic style is very organic and incorporates elements such as natural fabrics, natural fibers, papers, sticks, shells and plant life. My artwork largely consists of 100% cotton fabrics precisely pieced and judiciously embellished to create an image. I am committed to producing art quits with the highest quality construction and workmanship. My art generally has a literal presentation, but are figurative in their interpretation. I intentionally create this dichotomy to evoke emotions and feelings of spirituality.
